Swedish Massage

Patient receiving swedish massage

Swedish massage is a hands-on, whole-body approach to help relax the whole body.

Swedish Massage is a hands-on, whole-body approach to relax the whole body.  It tends to be a deeper pressure than a relaxation massage, but not as deep as a Deep Tissue Massage.  The treatment consists of rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood flow returning to the heart.

Why Get a Swedish Massage?

As it stands, Swedish Massage comes with benefits for both your physical body and for your emotional well-being. In terms of physical benefits, a massage of this type can undo knots in your muscles, decrease pain in your body, and increase blood circulation, lymph and metabolic wastes from your muscle tissues.  You may or may not be sore for a day or two following a Swedish Massage.  It is important to drink water after any massage to stay hydrated.
